Week 3 of Summer Camp Visits

by Nina

"Welcome to Sugar Creek Bible Camp!"

Lindsay & I arrived at this camp as our 2nd together, and my 3rd visit for the summer on behalf of Luther Seminary. We settled in, and got to spend some time talking with the staff at their beginning-of-the-week staff meeting. Throughout the week we experienced frog catching, horse riding, knitting, hiking, swimming pool parties, cooking over open fire, sleep outs, voyageur canoeing on the Mississippi River, environmental education, a wagon ride, and sewing. Campers stayed in cabins, wagons, military-type tents, and house boats (you can't make this stuff up). All that in addition to the basic campfires, Bible studies, songs, arts and crafts, field games and regular camp fun.

We had many wonderful conversations with the young adults spending their time this summer with kids and talking about their faith. It is encouraging to know such leaders investing in the church. I even brought home a souvenir in the form of bug bites!
