Bowling with the Bible Division

by Nina

Have you ever wondered what it is like to hang out with Biblical scholars who teach at a seminary? Well, you might not have to wonder for long. Every year during the Annual Variety Show and Auction the Bible Division sells itself on a bowling date. Now, during this auction I was setting up microphone stands and other various props for the variety show acts, but a classmate of mine won the bidding and I was allowed into the date. So here's how it happened: four students, five faculty members, and two children showed up at the U of M St. Paul Student Center bowling alley. We enjoyed soda, pizza, and bowling - conversation, hi-fives, and lots of cheering. It was lots of fun to get to hang out with our professors in a very different context than sitting in their classes.

So if a bowling date with these fine academic minds is something you are hunkering for - start saving up now for next year's auction....and start looking for the perfect polyester shirt too!

why are children teaching the b-i-b-l-e to grown-ups? Do child labor laws apply in the upper crust of St. Anthony Park!?!?
