Camp Visitation Crew (formerly 2x2)

by Nina

This summer I have a pretty awesome job.

The seminary hired me to lead a program that sends seminarians out to Bible camps. We go for a week or part of a week, two by two. We serve in any way that we can, seek to be a resource to the camps, and engage the young adults in leadership there in vocational conversations. Sometimes we end up talking about seminary. Sometimes we talk about music, or social work, or family dynamics, or travel, or theology. We always meet some really great people, faithful Christians, and passionate leaders.

I led this program last summer - where we visited 13 camps in 5 states. This week was our first tour of the seasons. We helped out with staff training at Good Earth Village. It was great to lead sessions and start conversations about things we are really passionate about - namely vocation, gifts, callings, the Bible, and working with the young people who show up at camp each summer.

It is also great to eat, pray, sing, dance, and play dragon tag in such a loving community. The hi-light of my week was the central place of laughing AND seeing and hearing how the staff latched onto the idea of vocation and service for their ministry this summer.
