Magic Trick
by Daniel
Have you seen the most recent installment of the Batman series, “The Dark Knight?” If you haven’t seen it you’re definitely missing out. It’s pretty dark—but it’s a great movie. If you've seen the movie then you’ll recognize the line, “Wanna see a magic trick?!” Well—I’ve got a pretty nifty one up my sleeve. It’s called the “disappearing inbox” trick! I checked my email today to find that my entire inbox was empty. Yikes. This is a pretty big problem. I had quite a bit of important stuff in there. I checked my trash bin – and the emails didn’t end up in there. I just checked my inbox, which previously had two emails in it (because it was wiped clean) to find that they were just randomly deleted as well. Something is up! Nevertheless, I have faith in Luther’s computer helpdesk team. They’ve got the smarts to figure it out. Technology is good when it works, right?
Speaking of which – I’ve been working on creating a college-level “Introduction to the Bible” class this January. I’m making a website for it. It’s a pretty good way to organize things. It’s been a pretty fun project so far. One of the biggest difficulties I’ve been having, however, is condensing the entire biblical narrative into one semester course. It seems like an impossible task for the amount of time that you have in one semester. I definitely have some new found respect for our faculty.
