A Dangerous Weapon
by Nina
As I went through the ritual of airport security on my way back to Minneapolis/St. Paul today, an interesting thing occurred. As my carry-on suitcase went through the mysterious security machine, Airport Security Man hollered Bag Check!
Really? I wondered. The only new thing I was bringing back from New Orleans was some notes from workshops during the conference.
A blue-gloved woman opened my luggage (under my watchful eye) and explored what had alerted such warning....my Bible.
Did my Bible set off the alarm?
Well, it's the metal cover.
I then watched as she paged through my Bible and nearby devotional book before taking my bag back and heading towards the departure gate. We might think the Word of God is a harmless book. We are mistaken - it is provocative and most certainly dangerous.
