where were you?

by Amber

It seems today is the one day a year when you go to write the date on a letter and gasp. Online news sources are littered with stories and pictures of children of terrorism, memorials, and Obama's remembrance to the day. 8 years ago. Amazing how a changed skyline can still put a lump in my throat. I was in NYC a year before the attack and have a great panoramic shot of the city with the twin towers demanding your eye. It's much different now. We'll likely be telling the stories of "where we were" when we heard the news much like our parents remember "where they were" when hearing about the assassination of Kennedy back in 63. Ok, my mom was only 5, but I'm sure others remember. :) Why can't there be days when we write the date and gasp for joy in remembering something the whole world would recognize as grand?
