non-biblical preaching

I went to church this morning, the location shall remain unnamed. It's hard not to go to church anymore without a thorough critique of every element of the service. On internship, our Monday afternoons were devoted to an hour long worship review where we pulled apart every piece of worship from the day before. I try not to be so critical when I go to worship, but today, something happened that was far too tragic to ignore. I kid you not, the preacher NOT once referenced the Biblical text for the day in his sermon. A lesson was read before the message began, and we never heard from it again. Holy cow. Someone needs to give this guy a Bible and re-explain what Biblical preaching is. Lose, Scharen, Lewis...ANYONE!!
