It's been a long week in the windy city and I'm sure that's an accurate comment for the most of us down here. We've been blessed enough to have had the chance to visit many many churches and organizations that are having a positive impact on the circumstances of life here. One of the highlights for me was visiting St. Sabina, the famous church known perhaps as well for its infamous pastor: Father Pflager. In addition to the valuable time we've spent with these churches and organizations we've had time to spend with one another.
We come from many states and many circumstances and because we've been divided up into groups to address specific topics like racisim, violence, and economic injustice and their role in urban contexts we have had a chance to put our hearts and minds together. The time we have spent with one another has been the most valuable thing to me. Throughout my life I continue to find that life lived in honest conversation with others is the most upbuilding and interesting way to live. We have been blessed upon blessing and many of those blessings come through our relationships with others. We are called to be a blessing too. That is one thing that keeps me looking forward this coming week.
