Tuesday Lunch

Today was our last Tuesday lunch of the school year. Tuesday Lunch is one of the important community times for those in the Children, Youth, and Family Ministry programs. Every Tuesday, CYF staff and students gather and eat lunch together. It is nothing fancy. We check in. We talk with close friends, get to know new people, and even have an occasional prospective student in our midst. There are usually announcements and every once in awhile someone talks about their experience at a conference or the place they work part time. We have even had some of our international students share about their churches and visions for ministry back home. And we pray together.

Other campus groups take advantage of meeting over a meal - Mission & Ministry Forums on a broad range of subjects and a Women Leading group on campus both meet over lunch. The library provides pizza for lunchtime workshops. Once a month, we even have a free community meal. There are probably even more groups I just don't keep up with.

With classes ending this week - I am sad to say goodbye to these opportunities to connect over lunch. Tomorrow is the last community meal of the year and I will be there.
