Thawing Out

by Daniel

In the heart of a harsh Minnesota winter it is rare to be blessed with a warm day. It’s great to see people going for runs and walks with their dogs in February. My puppy was certainly getting a little sick of the cold. It was pretty sad seeing him limping around every time he had to go outside. He did, however, get some cute little dog boots and a vest to keep him warm (not to mention fur). I’ve had my car battery die twice this season (for crying out loud)! Today was definitely a nice change of pace. Things were especially beautiful (except for the dirty brown snow, the thawing animal droppings behind my apartment and the black salty sludge that is currently saturating the ankles of my jeans). I still eagerly wait for next week. My classes this semester are going to be great! I’ll be working with some of our best Old Testament scholars. I’ll also continue working as a teaching assistant for my colleague at North Central University. The experience of working as an assistant has been amazing so far. I’ve done everything from proctoring to grading! I’ll get to do a lecture or two in April. I hope that everyone has been taking some time out from their studies and work to enjoy the weather. It’s hard to tell if it will last for long. Have a blessed day.
