Good News

by Chase

Hey, I needed a little boost today. So, I started looking for what I call good news. You may not be familiar with it, rare bird that it is. It took quite a while for me to find something I could rationalize as "good news." First I had to sift through stories that talked about spending, losing, fighting, and finally a story that puts the Twin Cities at 5th most undesirable place to live in the USA. But, I did find one little bit of good news.

I'm certain a kitten has been rescued from a tree by a fireman somewhere in America, but I couldn't find a story on that. Instead I found a story chronicling improving numbers. Apparently, it is good news that there has ben a surge in productivity in America. The story I found in the Star Tribune tells the pleasing tale that increased productivity and increasing wages keep prices low and workers well paid, respectively. If wages increase without an increase in productivity we end up with increasing prices. Now, we don't like high prices, but we do like high wages. So, it seems like good news that productivity is increasing because consumers get low prices and workers get higher wages.

What do you think, good news or bad news: Steven Colbert has a segment on his show called "YAHWEH or NO WAY."

My search continues for good news. I am not satisfied with good news about numbers. But if you want to read the article click here.
