Ring, Ring!

by Daniel

If you’ve been a student or instructor within the last ten years then you know the problems that technology can bring into the classroom. Cellular phones are both a blessing and a curse. It’s great to have easy access to people—but it’s bad to be interrupted. Have you ever missed a service call and had no idea what it could possibly be about? When I was in my “Worship in Ancient Israel” precept today I missed a call from Comcast (my cable/internet service provider). It was from the “cancel” department. I’ve been a bit on edge all day trying to figure out what the issue could have possibly been. I called the number back as well as the office extension that was provided to me by the Comcast representative and had no luck figuring out what the issue was. Customer service said my account was good to go with no flags or billing issues. The tone of the voicemail, however, made it sound like something bad had happened. Weird! It really interrupted my entire day. It was as if someone threw a wrench into the spokes of my life! Anyhow—I’m off to get my life on track for the day. I’ve got some papers I need to grade. Have a good afternoon! =]
